How to choose your trip in Armenia?

Duration determines the depth of your journey. A 8 to 12-day format allows you to cover Yerevan, Ararat, Lake Sevan, Dilijan, Vayots Dzor and Tatev without rushing. To add the north (Haghpat, Sanahin, Alaverdi), venture to Meghri or combine with neighboring Georgia, plan for 13 to 17 days. We advise against formats shorter than 8 days: distances are short but mountain roads slow down each leg, and the monasteries deserve time.

Different types of trips

Our cultural itineraries explore Armenian history, from the first Christian kingdom to the khachkars of Noratus, with artisan encounters in Areni and wine tastings. Adventure trips follow sections of the Transcaucasian Trail, climb Khustup or cross the Azat gorges. For family journeys, we adapt distances, include the Tatev cable car, swimming at Lake Sevan in summer and nights with local families where children help knead lavash.

What is the best season?

September remains our peak period: 22 to 28°C on the plains, grape harvest, golden light on monastery stone. May and June offer lush nature but some showers at altitude. July and August are ideal for hiking on the high plateaus of Lake Sevan or Aragats, cooler than the Ararat plain which exceeds 35°C. From November to April, snow closes several passes, notably Selim and Vorotan; itineraries focus then on Yerevan, Ararat and a few short excursions.
